A Romeo and Juliet story with a Kiwi-Asian twist, My Wedding and Other Secrets is a romantic comedic journey through a cultural minefield, navigating the divide between the traditional values of immigrant parents and the contemporary aspirations of their children in a new land.

My Wedding and Other Secrets has its nationwide New Zealand release on Thursday March 17, 2011.

SYNOPSIS

South Pacific Pictures, in consultation with educationalists, has developed an Educational Resource Kit around My Wedding and Other Secrets.

The kit is aimed at secondary school students (the movie has an ‘PG’ rating) and includes activities that are based on the achievement objectives in the New Zealand English Curriculum and Media and English NCEA Achievement Standards. They are designed to provide a starting point for teachers wishing to design a unit of work based on the film.
