Chris Bailey commenced his role as Managing Director of South Pacific Pictures in January, 2009. 

Chris has more than 30 years experience in the New Zealand television industry and is regarded as one of the country’s top producer/directors.

Chris was involved with South Pacific Pictures when it began 20 years ago.  He directed episodes of the company’s very first production (Space Knights) and then became Head of Production in the early 1990’s.  In that role, he oversaw local productions and international co-productions.  Chris played a major part in the development of Shortland Street and served as Executive Producer on the show during its first three years.

In 2008, Chris produced the new drama series Go Girls for South Pacific Pictures.

Chris was a founding partner of ScreenWorks where he directed and executive produced a number of television projects including Orange Roughies, Doves of War, Skin and Bone, Hard Out and Street Legal.

As Managing Director, Chris will be responsible for the day-to-day running of South Pacific Pictures, with all divisions reporting to him.
