Sione’s 2: Unfinished Business set a new record for a New Zealand film for the four day weekend as it grossed more than $775,000 on its debut.

South Pacific Pictures said they were delighted with the audience’s response.

“The tweets and blogs are delivering us terrific messages,” said producer John Barnett.

“Seen it 3 x in 2 days,” and “Better than Sione’s Wedding,” reflect the audience feedback.

Moviegoers are flocking to it and telling their friends to go as well.
