South Pacific Pictures' hit comedy drama series Outrageous Fortune wins four top awards in The TV Guide Best on the Box People's Choice Awards 2007. Robyn Malcolm (Outrageous Fortune) has been crowned New Zealand's Sexiest Woman ahead of Bernadine Oliver-Kerby, Toni Marsh, Pippa Wetzell, Siobhan Marshall and Renee Wright. Robyn commented to TV Guide: "Me, Sexy? That's Outrageous. I just don't consider myself in that way. I slop around in t-shirts, jeans and jandals and no make-up. It's sort of flattering in a hilarious kind of way." For the third year running, Robyn has also been voted Best Actress in the Best on the Box Awards. This year she collected well over twice the votes received by her fellow nominees. The Best Actor award went to Antony Starr, also from Outrageous Fortune, for his portrayal of twins Van and Jethro West. He also came second to Simon Dallow for New Zealand's Sexiest Man. Antony said to the TV Guide, "The response to this series has just been phenomenal. Everyone seems to be in behind it and supporting it. It's just fantastic." Outrageous Fortune has also taken out Best Drama with an astounding 54.9% of the vote. This marks a third year consecutive win for the series. South Pacific Pictures' TV2 weeknight series Shortland Street was voted second favourite drama and the telefeature The Man Who Lost His Head which was co-produced by South Pacific Pictures and Greenlit Rights Ltd for TV One and ITV (UK) came third. |
