South Pacific Pictures' productions took out 11 of the top television honours at last night's Air New Zealand Screen Awards. Outrageous Fortune scooped six awards including Best Drama. Lead actors Robyn Malcolm (Cheryl West) and Antony Starr (Van/Jethro West) won the awards for Performance by an Actress and Performance by an Actor respectively, while Frank Whitten (Grandpa) took home the gong for Performance by a Supporting Actor. Director Simon Bennett was awarded the SDGNZ Achievement in Directing, Drama/Comedy programme while series co-creator James Griffin won the award for Script, Drama for the Outrageous Fortune Xmas Special. Fantasy drama series Maddigan's Quest took out four award categories including Best Children's Programme. The show also won the Images and Sounds award for Contribution to a Soundtrack for Carl Smith, Rodney Larsen and Steve Finnigan; Achievement in Original Music for Victoria Kelly; and Contribution to Design for Tracey Collins.
