This year marks Shortland Street's 15th anniversary.

Celebrations were kicked off with a Shortland Street 15th Anniversary Television Special which included live performances by past and present cast.

On the show new staff uniforms and a new hospital set has been revealed. Plot twists also include the return of some well known faces from the past, a surprise wedding, the arrival of a mysterious newcomer.

The official birthday episode will air on May 25th 2007.
