NZ Idol 3 is proving as popular as ever with fantastic ratings. The Theatre Round shows on July 30 and 31 did spectacular numbers; the Sunday night show winning the timeslot with a 29.9% share of the 5+ audience, a 32% share of 18-39, and a 46.7% share of Females aged 15-29. The Monday night show had a 34.5% share in 5+, a 43.5% share of 18-39 and a massive 56.1% share of females aged 15-29.

The South Pacific Pictures produced series launched on TV2 on 16 of July with new judges shock-DJ Iain Stables and singer/actor Megan Alatini joining veteran musician Frankie Stevens, and new prizes, including a brand new Daihatsu Terios car, $50,000 in cash and a record deal.
